Act Up collects nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no trackers, no servers. Everything you do in the app stays on your phone. That's the entire policy — everything below is just us saying it properly.
Act Up is made and published by Nuralingua. If you have a question about anything on this page, email nuralingua@gmail.com and a person will reply.
Nothing. We do not collect personal data, usage data, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, crash reports or diagnostics. There are no cookies or equivalent tracking technologies, and there is no account system — nothing to sign up for, and nothing for us to hold about you.
Because we collect no data, there is no data for us to share, sell or hand to anyone — advertisers and data brokers included.
Act Up saves a few things locally so the game works. None of it leaves your device, and we cannot see any of it:
Language, round length, sound, haptics, tilt sensitivity.
Any word lists you write yourself, plus your favourites and stats.
Video captured during a round, if you choose to use that feature.
Deleting the app removes all of it. Recordings you explicitly saved to your photo library stay there until you delete them yourself.
Act Up only asks for a permission at the moment a feature needs it — and the game is fully playable if you decline every single one.
Detects the tilt that marks a prompt correct or passed.
On deviceOptional. Records a round so you can watch it back. iOS only.
On deviceOptional. Captures audio alongside the round video. iOS only.
On deviceOptional. Saves a recording to your library when you tap save.
On deviceRecordings are processed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded, never analysed by us, and never used to train anything. If you share one, that's you choosing to send it through your own share sheet — at which point the receiving app's privacy policy takes over.
Act Up is a party game for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. Since we collect nothing from anyone, we cannot and do not collect personal information from children. If you believe otherwise, contact us — though there is no mechanism in the app by which it could happen.
The UK GDPR, EU GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. We honour all of them — but because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase. You already have complete control: clear the app's data in your device settings, or uninstall it.
If you are in the UK or EU and believe we've handled your data improperly, you can complain to your local supervisory authority. In the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Act Up contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs and no social media SDKs. In normal use the app makes no network requests at all and is fully playable offline, including in airplane mode.
Apple and Google separately collect data about downloads and crashes through the App Store and Google Play. That's governed by Apple's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy, not this one — we only ever see anonymised aggregate numbers.
If we ever ship a feature that changes how data is handled, we'll update this page and the date at the top before it goes live, and note it in the release notes.
Questions? We'd genuinely rather hear from you than not.
